“Leave it to the pro !

With months of remote learning, a move to a new country and  a new school, our son, like many students around the world , had a rough time. By the middle of semester one in Grade 11, it was clear the work had piled up and that he would need help. But our son was basically refusing our help, nagging had zero effect and he was also reluctant to tutoring. Finally he agreed to try a few sessions with Alison who had been warmly recommended by the teachers and families from the school. The focus at first was to get through the different essays, breaking down tasks and planning revision for the upcoming mocks. Little by little our son regained confidence and motivation. Alison is not doing the work for her students; she gives them skills they will be using in the future as well. She is very dedicated. Our son was surely not the easiest student she ever had; however she never gave up on him. Not having to micro-manage our son’s work/behavior towards learning allowed us to regain a better relationship with him. Conversations about school work were not stressful for him anymore.

Because of the very positive experience, our twins in Grade 10 started sessions with her as well. The purpose is to set up good habits before starting the 2 years “IBDP marathon”. As parents, we are confident the next 2 academic years won’t be as bumpy for them as Alison will be there to support and help.

So leave it to the pro, she knows her job, she is doing it with passion and if, on top of that you are a non-native English speaker like us, you’ll see the difference she can make.”
